the day vizag was startled

the day vizag was startled
i live in the city of destiny …— VISAKHAPATNAM.. but on dat fateful day… the destiny of the city was completely ruined.
yes, im talkin abt the recent HUD HUD cyclone, which resulted in complete devastation of the garden city, financial capital of the state of ANDHRA PRADESH. its pretty sad to even talk of that ghastly incident which destroyed the lives of some thousands of people who couldnt afford to build a concrete house but settled with a asbestos roofing houses which were eventually blown away and threw the inmates of the houses on the streets.
it started a week ago even before the cyclone was near the shore.. the officials were taking safety measures to evacuate people near the sea shore to rehabiliation centres and everything was perfectly planned and implemented . then on SUNDAY the 12TH of OCTOBER.. the cyclone hit the shore near the city of VIZAG. it was like gales were blowing at the rate of  200kmph and there was a heavy rain at the same time..  everything in the cyclone surroundings was literally running for cover… infact everything was not running… they were flying… many trees which were some 50-100 years old were also uprooted right from their roots.. rakes were flying at building heights.a 2-hr lunch break in the afternoon and then the cyclone entered into the city … everything loose thing was in the air swirling here and ther.. and dashed away anything that obstructed their path… people in the city were praying for the cyclone to stop but then .. the gales continued till midnight and then there was some relief in the hearts of the people…
the next week was one hell of a life for the people living in the cyclone affected regions as there was no power supply, no communication with the outer world, and no basic amenities. after a one long week of struggle power was restored to almost 70% of the district which was only possible because of the involvement of our HONOURABLE CHIEF MINISTER Dr.NARA CHANDRA BABU NAIDU sir.
appreciation for the CM, the officials , the workers , the suppport staff.
and all the thanks to all the people who came from almost al the places in india to help the people of vizag to rebuild their city , all the neighbouring state governments, neighbouring districts for the supply of food and other basic essentials, and to all the donors for the cyclone victims in the NORTH ANDHRA districts - VISAKHAPATNAM, VIZIANAGARAM AND SRIKAKULAM.
